Aside from oxygen, water is the most important element of our survival. Water is the medium of our existence – it is life giving.
Our bodies are composed of 75% water. Water is involved in every cellular process that occurs in the body. Our quality of life is very much linked to the quality of the water we drink and bathe in.
Water in its original natural state has the ability to unlock our cell walls in order to transport nutrients into the cell and carry waste products out of the cell. Without proper hydration all systems of the body are affected negatively.
Scientists worldwide have been baffled by water’s mysterious properties for eternity. It is unlike any other element. For example it is the only element in nature that expands when it freezes. It is also the only element that can exist in three states – liquid, solid and gas.
It is a recently scientifically accepted fact that water has an energetic quality embedded in its molecular structure. This energy is charged naturally and builds when a stream or river is allowed to follow its own course. We’ve all experienced the positive energy generated by a moving body of water.
When water is manipulated by dams and forced by pressure through manmade systems of miles of pipes, making unnatural right angled bends and being totally cut off from nature – this is when its energetic quality is greatly reduced. You could say this is tired, worn-out and depleted water.
Mr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese researcher has published some fascinating information that substantiates the energetic quality concept of water and takes it a few steps further. He has shown that the molecular structure of water is not only influenced by physical forces, but that it is also affected by vibrational energy, thoughts, prayers, words, music and intention.
By studying frozen droplets of water under a dark field microscope he has documented the different crystals of water that are formed when water is exposed to various positive and negative, physical and energetic factors. His book, “The Message from Water” depicts this concept beautifully. There is a copy of the book in the clinic for you to browse through on your next visit.
Therefore not all drinking water is created equally. Depending on the original source of the water and what kind of journey it takes to get to your tap or into that bottle, including all physical and spiritual exposure, the molecular structure of the water is ultimately affected and hence so is the quality.
At the very least, filtering tap water with a simple carbon filter is recommended to remove heavy metals, harmful chemicals and impurities while leaving in some minerals. I would also recommend a simple shower filter to remove chlorine.
To make matters more complicated most people do not drink enough water on a regular basis. Dehydration is a widespread condition in North America and most people in civilized countries are unaware that they are dehydrated. For a large part of the general population, replenishing the body’s much needed water supply has been replaced with beverages like sodas, coffee, tea, juices and alcohol – liquids that only further dehydrate the body.
Even slight dehydration can wreak havoc in the body creating conditions of chronic constipation, arthritis, headaches, depression, fatigue, skin conditions, high blood pressure, digestive problems etc.
In support of this theory F. Batmanghelidj, M.D. has written the book, ” Your Body’s Many Cries For Water“.
As the population on earth continues to grow exponentially and our supply of fresh potable water diminishes, widespread shortages of drinkable water especially in Africa, Europe and Asia are predicted in the not so distant future.
On a brighter note it is encouraging to know that there are worldwide organizations that understand water’s characteristics in nature. In response to the growing problem of water not being able to support life as it was intended they are developing eco-technology. Using this technology they are researching how to strengthen water’s life supporting properties by facilitating an increase in its energetic qualities to mimic what transpires in nature.
Have a great summer and don’t forget to hydrate!!
