by Doctor Melanie MacIver

Try this great osteoporosis self assessment tool!

Use this simple calculation and assess your risk of osteoporosis.

Age-Weight (kg) = chance of osteoporosis

If you score 0 or less your risk is less than 5%

If you score 0-20 your risk is approx. 15-20%

If you score 20 or more your risk is approx. 50-60%

Eg 60 years old weighing 130 lbs (60 kg)

60-60=  0     risk is approx. 5% or less

  • Good Morning, What a delightful moment of time. I self score Risk less than 5%

My question to you- do you know of any synergy combinations of whole foods for optimal calcium and trace mineral metabolizing?
This would be so good for women whom are always on the go like myself and clients that I work with in my Pilates studio.

My favorite for calcium and trace minerals is the plant stinging nettle. It grows locally and is probably the most nutritious local plant! The young spring shoots can be steamed like spinach or made into a tea, and dried to use the rest of the year in tea or tincture form. It is truly an amazing plant! I just planted a patch in my backyard :)
